Indonesia has a lot of traditional games, and some were originated from 1340 tribes and 300 ethnics of Indonesia. The traditional games resulted from the culture that transfer generation by generation played by children or adult. The traditional games have a flexible rule, it can be modified easily based on the current situation. Several games have been practically shown by Dr Anung. For example, Warm Up Senam Maumere through Gemu Fa Mi Re song from East Nusa Tenggara tribe. The existence of traditional games believes have been created naturally by common people as human naturally creative to invent activities that create happiness for relaxation purpose and some games have similarities with other countries due to colonization. Another example of Indonesian traditional games is Patil Lele, Engklek and Snag Ball. Some game is same with Malaysia but has a different name like in Malaysia Engkek known as Jengkek or Teng-Teng. A lot of traditional games have 100% similarities with other countries/region/state/city/ethnic but have different name. The Patil Lele games involve of two groups (attacking group and defending group) with two short wood stick. While Engkek involves jumping movement with one small rock for each participant that must more than two at least. Furthermore, Engkek is not local games it is international games that had been brought by Europe during colonialization. Next and last is Slag Ball or Burning Ball originated from Germany or Dutch. We need to have a fairly large area, or a field and it involves running movement. In can be concluded that the Indonesian traditional games come from local and international especially during colonialization time that has been pass generation by generation. But unfortunately, traditional games nowadays facing challenges with modern games like online games, digital games, or virtual games. Therefore, the government might introduce more traditional games internationally for example in prestige games like ASEAN Games, Commonwealth Games, Olympic Games, or others.
